Microsoft to launch online gaming store

Software giant Microsoft is all set to launch an online gaming store. According to online reports, the launch set for November 15 will allow users to buy digital copies of games directly from the browser. The new store will be available on at It will integrate existing Xbox Live online console gaming service and Windows Live, which is meant for PC gamers. Key features of the store are reported to be “ultra-fast” downloads, search by titles or by genres, deals and discounts, including “Deal of the Week” and other recurring and seasonal offers. According to CNET, the new marketplace also takes advantage of RSS feeds from developers, so shoppers of the site can see the most recent updates of news items from a particular developer. Anyone with a Windows Live ID, including Windows Live, Xbox Live, Games for Windows (Live or Zune account), can login to the new Games for Windows Marketplace. Users can purchase games with their Microsoft Points or a credit card.
